How the Program Works
Season One features eight animated story missions, with each mission centered on a specific social-emotional skill such as kindness, patience, active listening, responsibility, teamwork, managing disappointment, and handling jealousy.
The program follows a bi-weekly implementation model. During the first week, students experience the story and its core SEL lesson; during the second week, teachers reinforce that skill through classroom activities, discussions, challenges, and student practice.
Teachers receive structured, grade-appropriate resources that make implementation simple and consistent while allowing flexibility for individual classroom needs.
More Than a Video Series
Each story becomes a complete learning experience through resources including:
- Animated story videos
- Interactive Story Actions
- SEL Wrap-Ups
- Helper's Promises
- Grade-specific Lesson Plans
- Mission Cards
- Student Worksheets
- Vocabulary and Roleplay Cards
- Anchor Charts
- Teacher Companion materials
- Student and teacher assessments
- Reinforcement activities
- Family Connection resources
The goal is simple: students don't just watch the lesson—they see it, discuss it, practice it, and apply it.
Built for Teachers
Helpers of the Day is designed to be practical for today's classroom. Teachers receive ready-to-use materials, clear instructional guidance, and structured reinforcement activities without having to build an SEL lesson from scratch.
The program can be incorporated into existing classroom routines while providing schools with a consistent approach across participating classrooms.
Family Engagement
Learning doesn't stop when students leave the classroom. Helpers of the Day includes Family Connection resources that encourage families to reinforce program skills through simple conversations and activities at home.
The Season 2 licensed program also includes the Helpers of the Day Family Night experience, giving schools an opportunity to bring students, families, and educators together for an engaging extension of the program.
Designed for K–2 Learning
Materials are developmentally designed for Kindergarten, 1st Grade, and 2nd Grade, with age-appropriate activities and instructional supports that help younger learners understand and practice social-emotional concepts.
Helpers of the Day also incorporates connections to CASEL competencies and applicable Texas educational standards, helping schools understand how program activities relate to broader student-development and instructional goals.
The Helpers of the Day Mission
Helpers of the Day is built around one powerful idea:
Every child can become a Helper.
By helping students recognize their emotions, think about their choices, care about others, and practice positive behaviors, the program gives children opportunities to develop skills they can carry from the classroom to their homes, friendships, and communities.
