FOR SCHOOLS & DISTRICTS

A Simple, Consistent Approach to Early Elementary Skill Development

Helpers of the Day is a story-driven K–2 elementary curriculum designed to help schools strengthen essential student skills through engaging video stories, structured classroom activities, teacher-guided reinforcement, and family connection.

The program is designed with implementation in mind. Schools receive a consistent framework that can be used across classrooms and campuses without creating an additional complicated initiative for teachers to manage.

SIMPLE IMPLEMENTATION

Helpers of the Day follows an easy-to-understand biweekly implementation model.

Week 1 — Story Week

Students are introduced to the featured skill through an engaging video story featuring Savannah, Jonah, and Mac the Toy Soldier. Teachers reinforce the story using guided discussion, Story Actions, vocabulary, Mission Cards, student activities, and other supporting resources.

Week 2 — Reinforcement Week

Students continue practicing and applying the featured skill through classroom discussion, worksheets, roleplay, reflection, challenges, and teacher-guided reinforcement.

The structure provides repetition without requiring teachers to introduce an entirely new lesson every day.

Designed for approximately 30–45 minutes per day, 3–4 days per week during implementation.

TELS, TEKS & CASEL ALIGNMENT

Helpers of the Day supports developmentally appropriate learning for students in Kindergarten through Grade 2 and is designed to complement existing elementary instructional priorities.

Program materials incorporate connections to:

Texas Essential Learning Standards (TELS) — Supporting developmentally appropriate social, emotional, communication, self-regulation, relationship, and classroom-readiness skills.

Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) — Curriculum materials identify relevant connections to Texas instructional standards where appropriate, helping educators integrate program activities with existing classroom learning.

CASEL Framework — Program skills connect with the five CASEL competency areas:

  • Self-Awareness
  • Self-Management
  • Social Awareness
  • Relationship Skills
  • Responsible Decision-Making

Alignment documentation, scope and sequence materials, and implementation guidance are available to support curriculum review and district evaluation.

CONSISTENCY ACROSS CLASSROOMS AND CAMPUSES

One of the primary advantages of Helpers of the Day is the ability to create a shared language and consistent student experience across classrooms and campuses.

Schools using the program receive the same core stories, skill language, instructional framework, implementation sequence, and supporting resources.

Teachers maintain appropriate flexibility in how they reinforce skills while students receive a recognizable program experience from classroom to classroom.

For multi-campus implementation, this provides districts with a common framework while allowing individual campuses and teachers to respond to the needs of their students.

TEACHER SUPPORT WITHOUT ADDING COMPLEXITY

Helpers of the Day is designed to make implementation manageable for classroom teachers.

Teachers receive ready-to-use resources including lesson plans, vocabulary cards, Mission Cards, roleplay activities, anchor charts, student worksheets, assessments/check-ins, Teacher Companion materials, and implementation guidance.

The program also includes on-demand orientation and teacher support materials, allowing staff members to become familiar with the program without requiring a live training event.

The goal is simple:

Give teachers the structure and materials they need so they can focus on their students—not on building another curriculum from scratch.

REPORTING & OUTCOMES

Helpers of the Day includes practical tools that help schools document implementation and observe student progress.

Schools can use teacher check-ins, student assessments, classroom observations, implementation tracking, student reflection, and educator feedback to examine areas such as:

  • Student understanding of targeted skills
  • Classroom participation and engagement
  • Skill application during everyday classroom situations
  • Teacher observations of student behavior and responses
  • Implementation consistency
  • Program completion and participation

For pilot implementations, participating schools can use these measures to establish baseline observations, document implementation, and review changes throughout the pilot period.

The program emphasizes measurable implementation and observable student growth rather than relying solely on participation or program completion.

BUILT FOR DISTRICT REVIEW

Helpers of the Day provides supporting documentation administrators can use during curriculum and program review, including:

  • Scope & Sequence
  • TEKS Alignment
  • TELS/CASEL Alignment
  • Implementation Guidance
  • Teacher Resources
  • Assessment Tools
  • Progress Tracking
  • Family Connection Resources
  • Pilot Evaluation Tools

These materials help curriculum leaders understand not only what students will experience, but also how the program will be implemented, supported, and evaluated.

FAMILY CONNECTION

Learning does not have to stop when students leave the classroom.

Family Connection resources give families simple opportunities to continue conversations about the skills introduced through Helpers of the Day.

Resources may include Family Conversation Cards, Mac's Family Missions, and Family Reflections that encourage children to practice program concepts at home.

This creates a connection between school, student, and family without requiring families to teach the curriculum themselves.

FLEXIBLE FOR INDIVIDUAL SCHOOLS. SCALABLE FOR DISTRICTS.

Helpers of the Day can begin with an individual campus, a multi-campus pilot, or a broader district implementation.

The same program structure can then be expanded while maintaining consistent materials, expectations, and implementation practices.

This allows districts to start intentionally, evaluate implementation and outcomes, and make informed decisions about future expansion.

START WITH A PILOT

Schools and districts interested in evaluating Helpers of the Day can begin with a structured pilot implementation.

The pilot provides administrators and educators an opportunity to experience the program, review implementation data, gather teacher feedback, and evaluate student response before considering broader adoption.
